SCUBA Dive and snorkel Maui with your with your whole family

There’s nothing quite like sharing a fun day in nature with your family.  Our Maui Deluxe Charter makes it possible for all members of your family to make the most of their time in this tropical paradise.  Have a blast and create memories that will last forever on our Maui Deluxe Boat.

This trip is the best boat charter we offer for kids under the age of 14 who are certified to dive but restricted by depth.  There’s a lot of life in Maui’s shallow water so members of your family who don’t want to SCUBA can hop in the water to snorkel.

Beginner friendly dive sites

Maui’s shallow reef system is stunning and a great spot for novice divers (and those who haven’t dived in while who need a refresh) to explore.

Your instructor will guide you on 2 dives through clear water, offer personalized attention, and point out all the interesting stuff. You’ll come up smiling and feeling more confident in your diving abilities.

I had a great time diving with Dive Maui last week. I did a 2 tank dive just south of Lanai. Our guide Dom made sure to point out cool things, including lobsters, a reef shark and a large snail eating a sea anemone.

Best dive ever. Nine divers, 4 staff, two in the water, means better service than a 5 star restuarant. Courteous, competent, friendly. They know their stuff, love to pass on their knowledge, and just care while still having fun. Oh, and a hundred dolphins frolicked through our dive group at Cathedral!

Great operation for divers.

No cattle boat feel, wonderfully personal and no setting of 40 minute bottom times. If you love to boat dive, this is your place while diving the west side of Maui, Lanai and Molokai.

We did 2 tank lanai cathedral dive in Feb 2020. Professional staff and good quality equipment. Dives were adjusted to the level of divers, their experience and physiological capabilities. Great atmosphere and tasty snacks on ship!

I’ve been diving on Maui several times and changed companies after loads of research. They are under new management and you can tell. The dives were awesome and we even spent time whale watching on the way back.  I wouldn’t go with anyone else!

Turtle heaven

Swimming with the local honu or turtle population is a must do when visiting Maui. Several of the sites we visit on the Maui Deluxe Trip could easily be called turtle heaven because of the number of green sea turtles that inhabit the area.

Green sea turtles are listed as critically endangered and are protected and revered in Hawaii. We are sure your encounter will leave you loving these graceful dinosaurs too.

Hawaiian monk seals, sharks, and endemic fish

While we can never guarantee what we will encounter underwater, we can guarantee you’ll see a whole cast of characters on the Maui Deluxe 2 Tank.

On a lucky day you might get a visit from a Hawaiian Monk Seal. A special treat indeed as there are only about 1400 Hawaiian monk seals left living in the wild. Friendly reef sharks are commonly found at some of our sites.

We are always stoked to spot a shark because sharks are indicators of the health of the reef. Colorful endemic fish are everywhere on Maui’s reef. Expect to be surrounded by the tropical fish throughout your dive or snorkel.

What do we see on the 2 Tank Maui Turtle Dive for Scuba + Snorkelers

The Hawaiian islands are one of the most isolated archipelagos on Earth.

Our nearest neighbor is 2390 miles away! Because Hawaii is so far away from other landmasses the wildlife of the islands is unique—nearly 40% of all our fish are endemic, meaning they cannot be found anywhere else in the world.

On the Maui Deluxe Trip your guide will point out and explain to you the wildlife you see that makes Maui so special.

Dive sites on Maui’s west coast

Our boat leaves out of Lahaina on Maui’s west side and we select our dive sites based on the conditions of the day.  Depending on the season we will head north or south along Maui’s coastline searching for the best spots to dive.

Dive sites on Maui west coast

Honolua Bay and the northern Coast

Leaving Lahaina and traveling north along Maui’s west coast you can expect to pass pristine beaches, lush rainforest, and spectacular cliffs.

Honolua Bay and the other dive sites north of Lahaina are part of the Honolua-Mokuleia Marine Life Conservation District. Its status as a protected area means the bay is teeming with abundant sea creatures of every color among the intricate reef.

You can expect to find huge schools of fish, turtles, mantas, sharks, and other marine life while diving in the Honolua-Mokuleia Marine Life Conservation District.

Pali Coast

Traveling south along the west coast of Maui you will see the West Maui Mountains, rolling foothills, and white sand beaches until the boat reaches the Pali Coast.

The Pali is a stunning segment of west Maui coastline with sheer cliff faces that end in turquoise water.  We often spot Hawaiian monk seals sunning themselves on the rocks along the Pali.

Underwater, the Pali is a beautiful reef system full of big stuff like turtles, mantas, stingrays and fish schools as well as macro life like cowfish, pipefish, and seahorses.

Frequently Asked Questions on our Maui Deluxe Dive

How experienced a diver do you need to be to join Maui Deluxe?

The sites we visit on the Maui Deluxe charter tend to be shallower than our other boat trips. That makes it the perfect trip for new divers and families with children. It is also a great boat trip for groups of certified and non certified divers to take together.

Certified divers can dive and non certified guests can snorkel or try an introductory dive and join their friends. If you’re interested in doing an introductory dive off our boat please call us at 808-661-7333.

Do I need my own SCUBA and snorkeling gear?

Didn’t bring your dive equipment? No problem! We rent all the gear you need for scuba diving and snorkeling. Just let us know you need gear when you book so we can have it ready for you on the morning of your trip.

What is the best time of year to go on the Maui Deluxe trip?

We do experience slight weather changes with the seasons throughout the year, but you can dive Maui all year round.

Our experienced captains and crew know how to pick dive sites based on weather conditions and will adjust the places we visit seasonally to give you the best diving possible every day of the year.

What’s the boat like?

We have 2 boats that you might get to sail in on your Maui Deluxe charter. During the summer months and if you have a large group you will be on Hoku.

  • Hoku is our 37 foot rigid hull inflatable raft that seats 22. She is super stable, comfortable, and shaded. During the winter and if you have a smaller group you will be on Seahawk.
  • Seahawk is our 27 foot, six passenger, aluminum vessel. She is comfortable, shaded, and fast.
